Founder Samuel Trimble wanted a modern, yet traditional feel to his brand. What was produced, was a new identity, badge and kit design, and microsite to quickly and easily give new visitors a brief history and structure of the academy.
Inspiration came from popular clubs such as the Liverpool Academy and traditional aspects of Uruguay, like the blue stripes and Sun of May flag. I created a new business identity, badge and kit badge, student handbook brochure, infographic of the history of Uruguayan football and website design for UFA.
The Southern Lapwing, a high-defense, territorial bird of prey and the national animal of Uruguay serves as the main image of the kit badge. Surrounded by laurel and olive branches from the country's coat of arms, the base symbol of UFA is a strong, patriotic anthem.
